Legally recognised e-signatures, with proof
Write a document in Pages or upload a PDF, choose who signs, and send each person a link. Signers confirm their e-mail address and sign on any device, with no account. You follow every step and, when the last person has signed, you get a certificate with a code anyone can check. Built for ESIGN, UETA and eIDAS.
Set up a document in four steps
Start from Sign in the menu and choose New document. You can write the document in the same editor as Pages, use a page you already have, or upload a PDF.
- Document: write it, pick a Page, or upload a PDF of up to 60 pages and about 7 MB that does not need a password
- People: add up to 10 signers, and tick that you sign first if you are one of them
- Place the fields: drag signature, initials, name and date boxes onto the document, one colour for each person
- Send: choose how long the links stay valid (14 days by default) and whether people sign in order
Signers need no account
Each person gets a personal link. They open it on any device, confirm their e-mail address with a code, agree to sign electronically and sign by typing or drawing.
- A 6-digit code goes to their e-mail address and works for 15 minutes
- The document is decrypted in their browser, and they can also decline, with a reason if they like
- Type a name, or draw the signature with a finger, a pen or the mouse
- Copy the links and send them yourself, or on paid plans let Filexco e-mail them
See who opened it and who signed
Your Sign page lists every document with its status. Open one to see each signer's progress and an evidence trail.
- Statuses: draft, waiting, completed, cancelled or declined
- Every step is recorded with its time, IP address and browser, each chained to the one before it
- Search by title, signer name or e-mail address, and sort documents into folders
- Cancel a signing to stop the links, or print the document at any stage
Built for ESIGN, UETA and eIDAS
A simple electronic signature is the standard kind these laws recognise. Filexco Sign covers what they look for, and every document ends with a certificate anyone can check on the Verify page.
- Consent: each signer ticks a box to agree to sign electronically, and we keep the version of that text
- Intent: signing is a deliberate step, the signer types or draws the signature and confirms it
- Bound to the document: the seal is made of two signatures, Ed25519 and ML-DSA-65, so any later change breaks it
- Audit trail: every step is recorded with its time, IP address and browser, each chained to the one before
What a free account gets
The people who sign never need an account and are never counted. The limits apply to the person who sends.
What Filexco can see, and what the signature is
Plain answers, so you can decide whether Sign fits your document.
What Filexco can see
Your browser encrypts the document with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, and the key travels in the part of the link after the # sign, which browsers never send to us. We know the title, the signers' names and e-mail addresses, and the time, IP address and browser of each step.
Add an access password
Anyone who has a whole signing link can open the document, and the e-mail code is the second check. For a sensitive document add an access password: it locks the key inside the link, so the link alone is not enough.
A simple electronic signature
A simple electronic signature is the standard kind that ESIGN and UETA in the US and eIDAS in the EU recognise. The certificate records who agreed, when, and from which address, and the audit trail backs it up.
Questions about Filexco Sign
How does e-signing with Filexco Sign work?
You write a document or upload a PDF, add the people who must sign, drag signature, initials, name and date fields where you want them, and send it. Each signer gets a link, confirms their e-mail address with a code, agrees to sign electronically and signs by typing or drawing. You follow every step and, when the last person has signed, you get a certificate and can save the signed PDF.
Is a signature made with Filexco Sign legally valid?
Yes, as a simple electronic signature: the standard kind that laws such as ESIGN and UETA in the US and eIDAS in the EU recognise, backed by an audit trail and a certificate.
Do the people who sign need an account?
No. A signer opens the link on any device, with no account and no limit on how many documents they sign. As the sender, a free account can create 3 documents in total, and paid plans have no limit. Free accounts copy the links to send them, and paid plans can also have Filexco e-mail them.
What proof do I get that a document was signed?
You get a certificate and a verification code. Every step (opened, e-mail confirmed, signed) is recorded with its time, IP address and browser in a tamper-evident chain, and the final seal uses hybrid Ed25519 and ML-DSA-65 signatures. Anyone can check the code on the Verify page.
What happens if the sender closes their account?
Download your signed copy and keep it: it is your proof. The online copy can be removed when the sender's account is closed or its plan ends, and the verification code stays valid for 7 years.
