Online office for your files: documents, spreadsheets and slides
Filexco has an online office built in. Write documents in Pages, build spreadsheets with formulas in Sheets and make presentations in Slides, or open the Word, Excel and PowerPoint files you already have and edit them in your browser. Everything saves to your own storage, and anything in a vault is encrypted in your browser, so only people who hold the key can read it.
Pages: write documents and notes
Pages is a clean editor for letters, reports, notes and meeting minutes. It opens in your browser and saves as a file in your storage.
- Headings, bulleted and numbered lists, to-do lists, quotes, code blocks and links
- Left, centre or right alignment, and a word count as you type
- Every save keeps a version, and you can restore an earlier one
- Export to Word (.docx), PDF, Markdown, HTML or plain text
- Send any page for signing in a few clicks
Sheets: spreadsheets with real formulas
Sheets works on several sheets in one workbook and has more than 70 functions, including SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP and TEXT.
- Number, currency, percent and date formats, or your own format code
- Sorting, filters, find, frozen rows and columns, merged cells
- Open and save Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files
- Export to Excel, CSV (the current sheet) or PDF
- Up to 10,000 rows, 200 columns and 100 sheets in a workbook of up to 8 MB
Slides: presentations you can present
Pick a layout and a theme, add text, shapes and pictures, write speaker notes, and present full screen from the same tab.
- Five layouts (title, title and content, two columns, image left, blank) and five themes
- Speaker notes, and a presenter view with a timer
- Pictures in PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF
- Open and save PowerPoint (.pptx) files, up to 300 slides
- Export to PowerPoint, PDF or a PNG of the current slide
Edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files online
Open a file from any folder, choose Edit in Pages, Sheets or Slides, and work on it in your browser. It works with .docx, .xlsx, .pptx and .csv files in any folder or vault. In Standard folders, older .doc, .xls, .ppt, .odt, .ods, .odp and .rtf files work too: Filexco converts them first.
- The editor works on a copy, so your original is not changed
- Filexco tells you when something is simplified, for example a table that becomes rows or a picture that is dropped
- Macros never run, and macro-enabled files are not opened
- Download the result as Word, Excel or PowerPoint again
Preview files without downloading them
Click a file to see it in your browser: Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, PDFs, CSV files, text and code files, photos and videos. In a Standard folder, Filexco creates the preview for an Office file and keeps nothing. In a vault, .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files are drawn in your browser, so they never leave it.
- People you share a vault file with can preview PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CSV files without an account
- Text and code files open in a plain text editor, up to 1 MB
- Password-protected and macro-enabled Office files cannot be previewed
Private by design: vaults and Standard folders
Your documents live in one of two kinds of place. You choose when you create a file, and you can move it later.

Questions about the online office
Can I edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files online?
Yes. Open a .docx, .xlsx or .pptx file in the web app and choose Edit in Pages, Sheets or Slides; .csv files open in Sheets. In Standard folders, older .doc, .xls, .ppt, .odt, .ods, .odp and .rtf files work too, because Filexco converts them first. The editor works on a copy, so your original file stays as it is.
Which file types can I open, edit and preview?
Preview: Word (.docx, .doc, .odt, .rtf), Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .ods), PowerPoint (.pptx, .ppt, .odp), PDF, CSV, TSV, plain text, Markdown and source code. Edit: .docx, .doc, .odt and .rtf in Pages; .xlsx, .xls, .ods and .csv in Sheets; .pptx, .ppt and .odp in Slides; and text and code files up to 1 MB in a plain text editor. The older formats work in Standard folders only, and Office files up to 25 MB are previewed.
Can I export my documents to Word, Excel or PDF?
Yes. Pages exports to Word (.docx), PDF, Markdown, HTML and plain text. Sheets exports to Excel (.xlsx), CSV (the current sheet) and PDF. Slides exports to PowerPoint (.pptx), PDF and a PNG of the current slide. PDF uses your browser's print dialog, and your files stay in your storage, so you can download them at any time.
Are my documents end-to-end encrypted?
Yes, when they are in a vault. New pages, notes, sheets and slides are created in a vault and encrypted in your browser with keys that never reach Filexco, so only people who hold the key can read them. Documents in a Standard folder are encrypted at rest with keys Filexco manages. You can move any document into a vault later.
